Applications: HPT parallel resistance, power limiting heating cables are designed for heating applications ranging from water freeze protection to process maintenance temperatures as high as 300°F (149°C). HPT is ideal for applications where steam purging or upset conditions preclude the use of lower temperature rated heat tracing cables. HPT is rated for maximum continuous exposure temperature (cable de-energized) of 500°F (260°C).

Construction:

  1. Nickel Plated Copper Bus Wire (12 AWG)
  2. Composite Metal Alloy / Fiber¹
  3. Heater - Bus Connection
  4. Fiberglass Braid
  5. Fluoropolymer
  6. Nickel Plated Copper Braid (BN)

Options:

  • Fluoropolymer over jacket (OJ), includes nickel-plated copper braid (BN). Increases durability and provides corrosion protection for metallic braid.
  • Monitor wire (MC) is used to monitor the continuity of the bus wire.
