Applications: TEK series resistance heating cables are used where circuit lengths exceed the limitations of parallel resistance heating cables. TEK cables can provide tracing for pipes up to 12,000 feet long with one power supply point. Available with two and three conductors, TEK circuits can be arranged in a variety of configurations.

Construction:

  1. Nickel Plated Copper Bus Wires (16 AWG)
  2. Fluoropolymer Insulation
  3. Fluoropolymer Insulating Jacket
  4. Nickel-Copper braid

Options:

  • Fluoropolymer over jacket (OJ), includes nickel-copper braid. Increases cable durability and provides additional protection for braid in applications where corrosive chemical solutions or vapors may be present.

Ratings:

Maximum maintenance temperature¹ .............................. 150°F (66°C)
Minimum installation temperature: ................................... -60°F (-51°C)
Maximum exposure temperature ...................................... 400°F (204°C)
...(cable de-energized)
Rated Voltage² .................................................................... For operation up to 600 VAC

Notes:

  1. Watt density limitations are correlated to maintenance temperatures.
  2. Definition as stated in IEEE 515 1989: Specific voltage depends on circuit length and design conditions.
